2024 Artists-in-Residence Application

Our Lady of Perpetual Motion is pleased to announce our inaugural Artists-in-Residence program in 2024. From January 7 - February 3, 2024, we will host four working creatives completely free-of-charge in our Undercroft space, which boasts four private bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living/lounge area, a full kitchen, and secured outside access. Steps from friendly and artistic downtown Fruita and surrounded by hundreds of thousands of acres of canyon country, artists can expect their time at this gorgeous historical venue to foster unfettered creativity and unlimited inspiration.

Each artist will have their own bedroom, but will share common spaces such as bathrooms, kitchen, and living areas. Artists will provide their own food, transportation, and housekeeping, and will be expected to honor the existing house rules at Our Lady. During their residency, artists will be expected to furnish at least four hours public engagement (open studio, artist talk, demonstration, presentation, etc.) and one hour of social media participation in support of Our Lady of Perpetual Motion.

the end of their stay, artists will bestow at least one finished piece that will become part of Our Lady of Perpetual Motion's permanent collection.

 

Creatives of all disciplines are encouraged to apply. Accepted artists will be subject to a background check. Partners/children/pets considered on case-by-case basis.

Steps from friendly and artistic downtown Fruita and surrounded by hundreds of thousands of acres of canyon country, artists can expect their time at this gorgeous historical venue to foster unfettered creativity and unlimited inspiration.

Each artist will have their own bedroom, but will share common spaces such as bathrooms, kitchen, living, and working areas. One working area of note is our belfry:  with hard flooring, natural light, and views over town and the
 Grand Valley, this space (accessible by ladder only) can serve as a dedicated shared studio space.

 

Artists will provide their own food, transportation, and housekeeping, and will be expected to honor the existing house rules at Our Lady. During their residency, artists will be expected to furnish at least four hours public engagement (i.e. open studio, artist talk, demonstration, presentation, group show) and one hour of social media participation in support of Our Lady of Perpetual Motion. At the end of their stay, artists will bestow at least one finished piece selected by Our Lady of Perpetual Motion to become part of our permanent collection.

 

Creatives of all disciplines are encouraged to apply. Accepted artists will be subject to an interview and background check. Partners/children/pets considered on a case-by-case basis.
